Base Building Rules
We don’t like restricting creativity when it comes to building, but resources aren’t infinite, and everyone deserves a fair chance to enjoy the game. To keep things balanced, we have a few building rules in place.
1. Building on Rivers & in Bays
Building near rivers and bays can be a great experience, offering scenic views and a sense of community. While we’re not a roleplay server, we respect the effort players put into making these areas visually appealing.
- Do not block rivers or bays with impassable structures.
- Avoid creating eyesores that negatively impact other players’ experiences.
- If your build is deemed disruptive, you may receive a warning, and adjustments may be made to fit this rule.
2. Large Builds Near Monuments & Points of Interest (POIs)
Certain bases can cause significant client-side lag, which varies depending on each player’s computer. However, to ensure a smooth experience for everyone:
- Avoid building massive bases near monuments or POIs.
- Large builds in high-traffic areas may be removed or adjusted if they cause excessive lag.
- If you want to build a huge base, do it in a less active area to avoid disrupting gameplay.
2.1 Bases That Cause Severe Server FPS Drops
Our server is optimized to handle most builds, but in rare cases, certain automations or complex structures can impact server FPS. If a base is proven to be causing severe performance issues, we will remove or modify it as needed.
3. No TC Griefing or Reserving Large Areas
At the start of a wipe, some players spam Tool Cupboards (TCs) on thatch platforms to claim large portions of land. While some players genuinely intend to build there, excessive land reservations can be disruptive.
- If other players complain they can’t build due to your TCs, they may be removed.
- If you’re not actively using the land and it’s blocking others, admins will clear the area.
By following these guidelines, we can ensure that everyone has an enjoyable and fair building experience.
